Cristiano Ronaldo is set for an emotional return to Old Trafford after his Real Madrid side were drawn with Manchester United in the last 16 of the Champions League.
Rio Ferdinand is relishing facing his old pal. Ronaldo will be up against Ferdinand and his former club for the first time since his world-record £80million move in 2009.
Ferdinand could not contain his excitement at the draw on twitter and tweeted Ronaldo, saying "see u soon bro!!".The former United skipper said on twitter: "Oh yes, Madrid!! What a couple a games that'll be!!"
Sir Alex Ferguson will also relish going head-to-head with his old sparring partner Jose Mourinho and he has huge respect for the former Chelsea coach.
Old Trafford was the scene of one of Mourinho's most famous Champions League results when his Porto side knocked United out of the competition in 2004, on their way to the trophy.
